Commute Solutions is a program administrated by the Alamo Area Council of Government’s Natural Resources Department. It began over a decade ago to educate people about the connection between air quality and transportation and to offer them viable alternatives to driving to school, work, or other places as a single occupant in a vehicle. Commute Solutions serves individuals, schools, and businesses of the eight county Metropolitan Statistical Area surrounding San Antonio, including Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson County.
How can we help you?
Commute Solutions helps individuals find ways to get to work and school that are cheaper, cleaner, and often more convenient than driving as a single occupant in a vehicle. For local businesses, Commute Solutions offers free assistance to establish programs that encourage employees to carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, or take public transportation to work, and for schools, Commute Solutions offers air quality education and traffic reduction programs that improve local air quality. Commute Solutions encourages the following commute options: carpool, vanpool, transit, walking, biking, or following an alternative work schedule.
The Commute Solutions Program is a Surface Transportation Metropolitan Mobility project sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation through the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
